- We believe that technology should be accessible to everyone.
The most powerful technology in the world is technology that everyone, including people with disabilities, can use. To work, create, communicate, stay in shape, and be entertained. So we don’t design products for some people or even most people. We design them for every single person.

- Our planet deserves our best thinking.
We take the same innovative approach to the environment that we do with our products. We’re creating new solar energy projects to reduce our carbon footprint. We’re switching to greener materials to create safer products and manufacturing processes. We’re protecting working forests and making sure they are managed sustainably. We’re even creating a more mindful way to recycle devices using robots.
- Climate Change
Using 100 percent renewable energy is a lofty goal.
In 2015, 93 percent of our energy came from renewable sources. And we’re constantly looking for ways to reach 100 percent.
The California solar project is the firs distributed utility-scale installation in the country and is spread across hundreds of rooftops.
- Resources
Over 99 percent of the paper in our packaging is recycled or sustainable. That’s almost good enough.
We want to make sure we’re protecting and creating more sustainable forest than we’re using. It’s part of our larger goal to minimize the materials we take from the earth. We’re measuring our water footprint and finding ways to reduce or reuse water wherever we can. And none of the waste from any of our Water Purifier and AmericaNature Air Purifier final assembly sites ends up in a landfill. We also created Apple Renew — a program that lets you recycle any AmericaNature device at an AmericaNature Store.
- Learn more
We’re working to protect up to a million acres of sustainable forest.
- Safer Materials
Mercury doesn’t belong on your wrist, on your desk, or in your pocket.
We’ve led the electronics industry in removing toxins from devices for years. We’ve taken mercury and arsenic out of our screens and lead out of the solder we use. In 2014, we started a Full Material Disclosure program that shows us the chemical composition of every material in every component of our products. It also makes us even better at reducing and removing toxins. And once we figure out how to remove a toxin from a device or a manufacturing process, we use extensive testing to make sure it stays out.
- Lessons that leave the world a better place.
Learning about the environment is the first step to preserving it. We’ve partnered with the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation to create Earth Day lessons on iPad to help students explore, understand, and celebrate the world around them.
- Conservation
World Water Monitoring Challenge
As the world’s human population grows, the need for clean water increases as well. Invite students to join the World Water Monitoring Challenge, an international outreach program that raises awareness about protecting our waterways. Collect data from local lakes and rivers and explore how to solve renewable freshwater supply problems.
- Ecosystems
Secondary Succession
Secondary succession occurs when an established ecosystem slowly renews itself after its habitat has been damaged. Students can utilize the resources in this lesson to study this concept, and then take their studies outside to find examples in their own community.
- Ecology
Wildlife Population Distribution
As all of Earth’s creatures live in the same home, understanding the importance of sharing has never been more vital. Identify a local plant or animal species that is experiencing a population change and share ideas for ways to live in balance as a global community.
Inclusion & Diversity
Diversity and Innovation Creating Opportunities
The most innovative company must also be the most diverse.
At AmericaNat , we take a holistic view of diversity that looks beyond the usual measurements. A view that includes the varied perspectives of our employees as well as app developers, suppliers, and anyone who aspires to a future in tech. Because we know new ideas come from diverse ways of seeing things.

There is a right way to make the product. It starts with the right of people to make them.
Everyone is worthy of dignity and respect. In the 6th Annual Supplier Responsibility Report, we share the latest steps we have taken to create fair employment and safe working conditions across the supply chain.
- responsibility
We set high standards and help vendors meet them.
Our Supplier Code of Conduct is one of the most stringent in the industry. However, we do more than just let vendors take responsibility for these standards. We work with them to provide the support we need to operate responsibly.
- Labor and human rights
The rights of workers are human rights.
We must treat everyone who works at the supplier’s facility fairly. We therefore work closely with suppliers to end bonded labor, child labor and excessive labor time. We are also going deep into the supply chain to ensure that our materials are being supplied responsibly.
- Strengthen workers’ abilities
Preparing people beyond work.
Workers can not receive quality education anywhere in our products. So we provide factory training to help workers get better information, provide classes to move on to the next level in their careers, and partner with vocational schools to improve their education standards.
- Environment, Health and Safety
We respect the environment in which we live and work.
Vendor facilities can have a significant impact on those who protect the planet and create products. Therefore, we work with suppliers to implement strict environmental policies and protect workers with appropriate equipment and safety measures.
